Penn State Workforce Development and Technology Building

Hallstrom Construction, Inc. was awarded this competitively bid project for the prestigious owner in May of 2003.  Some 14 months later, the Workforce Development & Technology Building was open for business.  This facility now houses the DuBois office of Pennsylvania Career Link as well as classrooms for Penn State University.

105,000+ feet or 20 miles of CAT 5 cabling was used on this project and would wrap 80 times around the PSU Mens/Womens 400 meter track.

72,000 concrete blocks...some 18 miles when laid end to end would amount to 68.5 times around the PSU Mens/Womens 400 meter track.

138,000 bricks, approximately 17 miles when laid end to end, would circle the PSU Mens/Womens 400 meter track 70 times.

Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging
CURWENSVILLE - The Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging just opened the doors to its newly renovated meal production and distribution facility. The relocation of the facility to Curwensville from Clearfield has allowed for the Meals on Wheels program to return a hot meal delivery to the Mahaffey route and add two new routes. The larger facility will not only produce meals for Clearfield County consumers but also for Centre County. "We purchased it because it offered us over 10,000 square feet of space, and the facility at our old site offered us about 3,500," chief executive director of the Area Agency on Aging Kathleen Gillespie said.
