DuBois Diner and Garred Office Building

Owner: Garred Real Estate Investment
Architect: KTH Architects, Inc.
Hallstrom's Role: General Contractor DuBois, PA

Although most of the building processes for this project were typical, the Diner was a first in many ways from the many specialty building products used such as the stainless steel quilted panels to the custom laminate for the counter tops.  The building is a 10,700 square foot, 2-story masonry and steel structure.  Located inside, the office of Behavioral Advancement of DuBois occupy the second floor while the nostalgic, yet, state of the art DuBois Diner and Gelato's Ice Cream Parlor complete with a Take-Out Window occupy the ground floor.  The 120-seat, 1950's style diner features quality craftsmanship such as intricate ceramic tile flooring, custom laminated countertops with period newsprint articles from the DuBois area, custom casework and, of course, genuine diner booths and stools.
The casual-elegant atmosphere has proven to be a place for fun in a "Burger Joint" setting and a meeting place for all ages with long conversations from which memories are made.

Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging
CURWENSVILLE - The Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging just opened the doors to its newly renovated meal production and distribution facility. The relocation of the facility to Curwensville from Clearfield has allowed for the Meals on Wheels program to return a hot meal delivery to the Mahaffey route and add two new routes. The larger facility will not only produce meals for Clearfield County consumers but also for Centre County. "We purchased it because it offered us over 10,000 square feet of space, and the facility at our old site offered us about 3,500," chief executive director of the Area Agency on Aging Kathleen Gillespie said.
